 | | At the October Annual Meeting of the Association of the United States Army, General Gordon R. Sullivan, President of the Association, presented Best Chapter awards to seven of AUSA’s 123 chapters. A Best Chapter is selected for each of the five membership groups plus an overseas category; there was one tie in the 900-1500 membership category. Best Chapter is determined by a combination of chapter success in growing its individual and corporate membership and in the programs the chapter conducts throughout the year to support Soldiers, Families, Department of the Army civilians, and the community. “It’s was a great honor as Chapter President to be recognized among peers as “BEST”. Thanks to all those Chapter volunteers and members who unselfishly worked this past year to meet our mission of serving Soldiers and their families. Congratulations! In making the presentations GEN Sullivan noted “These awards recognize those chapters whose outstanding service to their members, their communities, and the Army earned them the distinction of best in their class this past year. Their successes represent a team effort by the chapter and their local military and business leaders.”
