Wounded Warrior Fund Grant Program
Established in the late 1980's, this fund
has a long tradition of providing much needed financial
support to the Region's Service and family members.
Grant requests are received through the Chain of Command
and approved by the Region's community Support Organizations
usually within 24 hours. Over the past 5 years, more
than $75,000 in grants has been distributed in a time
Warriors In Town program
WIT is an extension of the Wounded Warrior
Fund and provides a FREE night out for FLW Wounded Warriors
and their families. In partnership with the Armed Service
YMCA transportation is provided to area communities
for a night on the town. In addition, many trips have
been coordinated for Wounded Warriors within the region
(Lake of the Ozarks, Branson hunting trip, Branson Belle,
St Louis Cardinal's baseball game, and Spring Training
trip to Florida.)
The Chapter awards $2,000 annually to
deserving Service Members or Service Member dependents.
The Chapter hosts picnics in local communities
as a way of connecting business, community and political
leaders to FLW. These events are well attended by FLW
BIG AUSA Annual Meeting Washington
The Chapter funds all costs for up to
20 distinguished FLW Soldiers. In many cases, this is
the 1st time these Soldiers have been to our Nation's
Capital. The trip includes a breakfast and office call
with our US Senator's. This is a life changing event
for these young warriors.
Distinguished Soldier Awards
The Chapter recognizes and presents awards
to all Brigades on FLW.
Lobbying Political Leaders
Understanding that those in uniform cannot
lobby for themselves, the Chapter is a constant "Voice
for the Soldier" to all elected officials.
